 A small act of gratitude for having had a comparatively straight foward time in higher education, an experience which totally transformed my life. 

 Generation Research is such a brilliant programme - ensuring those from less well off backgrounds can get the lab-based work experience that will help further their study or launch their career 

 Mental health and wellbeing has rightly come to the top of university agendas - if we can help tackle challenges to wellbeing at source then our university and our society will be all the stronger 

 There can be few things more important than equipping those displaced by conflict to fulfil their potential
